Email Script to send to [email protected]Hello,I hope you are well. My name is [INSERT NAME HERE], and I am reaching out to call for inclusion from Pleasing. With your launch of crewneck sweatshirts you excluded a great population of fans and customers. This is unacceptable for a brand like Pleasing that preaches inclusivity. Sizing that only goes up to 3X creates barriers and pain for many customers who live in larger bodies. Sizing up to a 3X is not inclusive. Bodies do not stop growing when they reach a size 3X.Imagine being a human who is larger than a size 3X, seeing that not only are you excluded from an apparel launch (again), but being told that your body is not pleasing. It is truly heartbreaking.I am asking you to size up to AT LEAST a 5X for all future apparel launches. Progress is pleasing, exclusivity is displeasing. Please acknowledge my voice and make a change. The ball is in your court. Thanks!

FAQ's"What is Pleasing?"
Pleasing is a new beauty and lifestyle company created and founded by actor and singer Harry Styles. A top anticipated item from the brand were crewneck sweatshirts. The sweatshirts launched in December and many were unable to get a crewneck due to the lack of size inclusivity. Pleasing's tagline is "Pleasing, never perfect" and it is time for them to include everyone in their products.
"Sizing goes up to 3X. What’s the issue?"
In the United States, "plus size" is considered from size 14, and the average size of women is 16-18. Hence, most folks are considered plus size - and that’s just the average.
Fat folks exist, and you probably know some of them. Bodies that wear larger than a size 3X exist, and those bodies are deserving of the same clothes that smaller bodies have access to.
"What size should Pleasing go up to?"
We are requesting for Pleasing to size up to AT LEAST a 5x for all future releases. But, most size inclusive brands range from a size XXS - 6X. For example, a brand with similar apparel, ethics, and pricing, Girlfriend Collective, goes from XXXS - 6X. 5x from Pleasing is the bare minimum of inclusion for all bodies. We would love to see larger sizes from them beyond a 5x over time.
"Why don't you just lose weight?"
Weight is not an indicator of worth or value. A person should not have to change their body just to have access to the same clothes that others have access to.
"Why now? Why come after Harry and his new brand?"
We have been speaking out about this size discrimination since prior to the launch of Pleasing. Size exclusivity has consistently been an issue with Harry’s official merchandise. This is gaining more attention now due to the excitement of the Pleasing brand’s launch and a growing population of fans who demand better.
"Why are you cancelling Harry? He's done nothing wrong."
We're not cancelling him. We love him, support him, and are invested in his projects. We know that he values respect, care, and kindness - this is a call for him to act on those values that we share with him. The best way for us to support the artist and person that we love is to show our faith in his potential and power to always do better.
"I think I might be fatphobic, and I don't want to be. How can I learn more about fat acceptance?"
We are so glad you are looking to better yourself and support the ones around you!
Here are our tips:
- Follow fat people on social media. Find people by looking up hashtags such as: #FatLiberation, #FatPositive, #FatActivist, etc.
- Some reading material: "Fearing the Black Body" by Sabrina Strings, "Health at Every Size" by Linda Bacon, "Anti-Diet" by Christy Harrison, "Radical Belonging" by Linda Bacon, "Your Body is not an Apology" by Sonya Renee Taylor, "The F*ck It Diet" by Caroline Dooner, "Secrets of Feeding a Healthy Family" by Ellyn Satter
- Podcasts: She's All Fat, Maintenance Phase, Food Psych, Willing To Be Wrong, Body Kindness, and Food Heaven are just a few to start with
Over time spent engaging with this media and supporting fat folks, you will find that the algorithm will start suggesting more and more fat folks, especially fat queer folks of color and all abilities.
This is bound to be an emotional journey, and you might find that it can be overwhelming. Treat yourself with kindness and take it one step at a time.
